The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) attends the 15th Southern African Association for Educational Assessment (SAAEA) 2026 Conference

The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) CEO, Ms Confidence Dikgole and staff were proud to join regional leaders in assessment at the 15th Southern African Association for Educational Assessment (SAAEA) Conference, hosted by the Examinations Council of Lesotho (ECoL) in Maseru from 15–18 June 2026.

Under the theme, “Advancing Responsive Educational Assessments for Diverse Learners’ Needs in the Digital Era,” the conference brought together regional leaders in assessment and set the stage for dialogue on the evolving demands of quality, inclusion, and future-focused education systems across Southern Africa.

Our CEO, Ms Confidence Dikgole, who is part of the SAAEA Executive Committee, contributed to key regional conversations on assessment standards and educational quality. IEB staff presented insightful papers across multiple strands of the conference, sharing best practices grounded in credibility, inclusivity, and responsiveness.

Engagement at this level reflects our continued commitment to strengthening assessment practice across Southern Africa, anchored in collaboration, professional rigour, and sustained impact.

Regional dialogue. Shared standards. Sustained impact.
