Assessment Support

Assessment support refers to both workshops and documentary resources that are aimed at strengthening our clients' understanding and engagement in assessment practices. We offer:

• Assessment preparation workshops:
  these include understanding unit standards, how to assess outcomes, and the IEB's assessment system. Site-based assessment workshops: these focus specifically on Umalusi's requirements for a site-based assessment component at NQF Level 1, and how the IEB meets these requirements. The workshops give guidance on how a provider can strengthen the internal practices of its own facilitators.
  
  
• User Guides at all levels:
  these set out the IEB's assessment requirements, and offer illustrative exemplars of the kinds of evidence and levels expected by the IEB.
  
  
• User Forums:
  these are events run by the IEB for the purposes of bringing assessors, providers and practitioners together to share insights and expertise on assessment.
  
  
• Feedback and reporting on assessment results:
  IEB offers various kinds of reports to clients in addition to statements of results, in order to help providers identify learner problems and planning priorities.

We are a registered assessment agency with Umalusi, council for general and further education. Umalusi endorses our certificates at NQF Levels 1 and 4. For the fundamentals in industry qualifications we work in partnership with the relevant SETA.
